A large bearing pad under shear test
A production line for a large size Reinforced Elastomeric Bearing Pads of up to 1200 x 1200mm to thickness of up to 120mm has begun production.
The challenges on such a large and heavy unit are well known, one specific challenge is how to ensure that vulcanisation is carried out so that the bonding and curing are completed while reinforcements remain in place and can pass the tests.
The relevant tests for the above size is also now available for this size and will be carried out on every unit before leaving for final aesthetic inspection.
